Islands of the World Fashion Week On Tour in 2010
Nassau, Bahamas: Mode Iles Ltd., organizers of the award-winning Islands of the World Fashion Week, announced that this year an additional feature of the initiative to promote designers from islands around the world and expose them to major international media and markets will be the launch of "Islands of the World Fashion Tour", commencing with a runway show stop at Fashion Week El Paseo in Palm Springs, California
Kendrick Kemp To Represent The Bahamas At Mr. World Competition in South Korea
Nassau, Bahamas: Kendrick David Kemp, the winner of the Male Model Muse Competition at the Islands of the World Fashion Week held in November, 2009, has been selected by the Miss World Bahamas organizers to represent The Bahamas at the Mr. World Competition scheduled to be held on Saturday, 27th March, in Incheon, South Korea. Mr. Kemp leaves The Bahamas for South Korea on 11th March to prepare for the final and participate in a number of preliminary events

The four categories included Sustainable Eco-Fashion, Culture and Fashion, NextGen Designer, Humanitarian Designer, and four Seals of Excellence.

Nassau, Bahamas -- Yves Saint Laurent’s quote, “Fashions fade, style is eternal” rang true at the Saturday evening revealing of the Harl Taylor BAG collection at Islands of the World Fashion Week (IWFW). The amazing display of 34 bags, including five of his signature HIV/AIDS and Pink for the CURE bags, floated down the runway and dazzled a packed ballroom.
Eric Raisina: The True Malagasy Progeny
Nassau, Bahamas -- Malagasy designer Eric Raisina made his Islands of the World Fashion Week debut the final night of the three-day international event mixing dark colored, form-fitting dresses and ethereal pieces in one colorful and mesmerizing showcase. The designer, whose “silk fur” fabrics and “African lace” are highly sought after by design houses Christian Lacroix, Yves Saint Laurent and other Parisian fashion houses, is best known for his textile designs of bold colored fabrics which he masterfully crafted in pieces that classily accentuated the femininity of each of his models.

Nassau, Bahamas -- Henry Nathanial Jackson is a master of design and fashion who has worked with some of the biggest names in Hollywood ranging from Angela Basset and Whoopi Goldberg to Oprah Winfrey. Known for creating elegance for full-figured women, Jackson’s designs hit the runway last on the second day of IWFW. The crowd waited anxiously for Jackson’s showcase and he surely did not disappoint. The crowd fell silent as the lights came up and the first model hit the runway. The music combined with the slow fortitude of the model’s movement captured everyone.

Nassau, Bahamas -- All aboard! The SS Hesani set sail on the second night of The Islands of the World Fashion Week (IWFW). With focal colors of red, blue, beige and gold, Hessani Cay’s collection was nothing short of nautical. Clean cut styles that were as fluid as the Bahamian tides took to the runway in everything from glittering swimsuits and striped racer backs to a trench coat and gown.
