Nassau, Bahamas -- All aboard! The SS Hesani set sail on the second night of The Islands of the World Fashion Week (IWFW). With focal colors of red, blue, beige and gold, Hessani Cay’s collection was nothing short of nautical. Clean cut styles that were as fluid as the Bahamian tides took to the runway in everything from glittering swimsuits and striped racer backs to a trench coat and gown.
Nassau, Bahamas -- Henry Nathanial Jackson is a master of design and fashion who has worked with some of the biggest names in Hollywood ranging from Angela Basset and Whoopi Goldberg to Oprah Winfrey. Known for creating elegance for full-figured women, Jackson’s designs hit the runway last on the second day of IWFW. The crowd waited anxiously for Jackson’s showcase and he surely did not disappoint. The crowd fell silent as the lights came up and the first model hit the runway. The music combined with the slow fortitude of the model’s movement captured everyone.

Nassau, Bahamas -- The statement, “Toto, I don’t think we’re in The Bahamas anymore” could describe the feeling that designer, Darcel de Vlugt brought to the second edition of Islands of the World Fashion Week (IWFW). An enchanting choreography of ruched and ruffled dresses with dramatically staged struts resonated throughout de Vlugt’s collection, which was also part of the NextGen designer presentation.
Nassau, Bahamas -- When one thinks of fashion; coconuts and skeleton umbrellas do not come to mind. Neither do sea grapes, conch shells or sprinkles of white powder sand. In fact, you may be asking yourself, “What does that even have to do with fashion?”
