With an influx of designers whose aesthetics center around all things modern and futuristic, Bahamian designer Renaldo Geumm exhaled a collection of classic silhouettes. The collection, however, wasn’t devoid of innovation.
Models sauntered down the runway in frothy frocks, swathed in an abundance of tulle in the most saccharine shade of chartreuse and on the bottom of a sleek white gown. He also showcased a selection of garments festooned with embellishments. And his take on the high-low hem on a few pieces was a delightful one.
Geumm’ s assemblage of dainty cocktail dresses was a perfect illustration of how one should dress for a fancy evening soiree. He hopped aboard the floral train in the vein of rosette detailing, submerging one of his creations in the trend.
But his myriad of confectionary offerings gave way to gorgeous black gowns that hug the body. A few featured peplum accents while others played on classic tuxedo elements, including large bows at the neck.
While there may have not been a multitude of day pieces, Geumm’s designs were definitely for a woman who enjoys glamorous night time events. A few gowns could easily be worn to an extravagant gala. And with the holiday season approaching, the chances of us onlookers seeing one of his creations on a red carpet or at a fabulous Christmas affair are definitely high.
