The idea of all things matronly and homely was quickly put to rest the moment the first look from Saint George Fashion House debuted on the runway. Sparkle, and lots of it, was paramount in the collection created by Turks & Caicos naitive, Kazz Forbes. Dazzling dresses in yellows and blues among a few other hues were covered in colored rhinestones that sparkled when the lights hit them. Without a doubt, these dresses were just what the fashion gods ordered, and exactly what pageant girls and women who love glamorous gowns dream of.
Ethereal silhouettes and celebration of the female body were clear indications that Forbes, knows the type of woman he wants to create clothes for. But all that glamor is nothing without a little sass. Dresses with thigh-grazing slits and plunging necklines offered something for the woman who desires to vamp it up and keep things interesting. A white, halter gown with cut-outs at the sides executed that objective perfectly.
And to liven things up, a wedding dress with an 80’s aesthetic was showcased. If it was paired with a leather motorcycle jacket, it could easily make its way to one of Madonna’s first videos.
Saint George Fashion House has created something that will have people talking for seasons to come. Though there weren’t a ton of separates, the focus and attention paid in order conceive gowns as beautiful as the ones in this collection must be lauded. There’s no doubt we’ll see someone famous in one of his creations soon if he continues to design like this, and we wait with bated breath.
