Urban menswear gets the spotlight with Ray Vincente

Where most designers set life in Technicolor as the paramount of their collections, Ray Vincente chose a different approach.  The designer looked to each end of the spectrum for inspiration, executed in his first few looks.  But, in true island fashion, this collection wasn’t completely devoid of eye-catching hues and a slew of different fabric choices.

Leotards and scintillating swimsuits meandered down the catwalk in black and white, most in a checkerboard pattern, for those who desire something vivid without appearing garish.

And for those seeking a little more excitement, a host of pieces showcasing a bandana pattern livened up the collection and perhaps awakened some latent debauchery in onlookers.

An onslaught of on-trend chambray pieces were on the menu for Vincente as well in the vein of jumpsuits, hooded trench coats and even a pinstripe number that had heads nodding.

Outerwear rounded off the collection with a bevy of interesting silhouettes, namely a tribal printed jacket with crochet knit sleeves, interweaving cultural references and making it look luxurious.  And the closer?  A polka dot hooded trench…very mod meets The Matrix.

Vincente delivered in a big way.

The collection had quite a few wearable pieces, and creativity was at the forefront.  Needless to say, anticipation is high to see more of his work.
